Living Water Unity Tithes

Living Water Unity is a tithing church -- we
practice our teachings of abundance. Infinite supply flows
from God through the Universe to us. Abundance is our natural inheritance as children of God. Yet we
are not likely to experience this unless we are willing to shift our
consciousness through the application of the universal laws of abundance. These laws state that we can
experience the abundance of God if we:
- take responsibility for our own consciousness -- disciplining our thoughts
to dwell only in Truth, not in fear or negativity
- live our lives in appreciation -- not of
anything in particular, but of everything, in general
- open our hearts to receive God's bounty --
know that we deserve God's abundance
- lift our vision to see our own prosperity -- open our
eyes to perceive the abundance that's all around us, in our relationships as
well as in our personal affairs
- offer our gifts in loving service to others --
our time, talent and treasure
We practice these principles within our church
organization, of course. Our Sunday teachings and classes repeat and
reinforce these principles. Our commitment of time and talent is expanding
as volunteer resources become available. For example, our Jefferson County
Jail ministry is continuing to bring New Thought teachings to its female
inmates. And we tithe our treasure, as well. In April, 2000, our Foundation Team committed to tithing
6% of our
income (i.e. 60% of one-tenth of our income) to the local community and
tithing 4% of
our income to various Unity
organizations (local, national and international). In December, 2000, our
then newly-elected Board of Trustees reaffirmed this policy and has been an
essential, "top line" budget item. Thus far, our tithes have
been made to:
