1. DR called meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. with the Opening Prayer.
2. Review of minutes of last Board meeting by KJ: The minutes were read as submitted. Motion to accept the minutes by PD, second by DR.
3. Treasurer’s Report presented by DR: Motion to approve report by CJ, second by PD.
4. Topic for Board contribution for bi-monthly newsletter (November): The theme will be Thanksgiving. PD will write the article. The deadline is October 15th.
5. Re-schedule mud and paint of fold out room: Mud on September 21st. The rest is to be decided.
6. Project Coordinator – Night at the Improv: The event will take place in early November. DR will contact Jim Small and Janice McDermott about coordinating.
7. Determine tithe candidates for August: Alternatives to Family Violence - $252 and Unity School of Christianity (Unity Village administration and publishing organization) - $160. June – Unity School of Religious Studies (ministerial and CEP school) - $179 & Family Tree - $269. July – SCUCA (regional org and not national AUC) - $228 & Rainbow Bridge - $342. PD will make an informational poster about our tithe recipients.
8. Sunday School volunteer reference checking: We will check possible sources of information. Motion to check references by PS, second by DR.
9. Administration assistance (someone to fill David Cowles term): We will wait until elections to fill the position. We will compile a more complete list by e-mail.
10. October conference attendance: DR would like to attend the Association of Global New Thought Conference, which will provide him with new tools and ideas. The cost will be $1200 including the conference, hotel and travel. He will alternate this conference with the AUC conference in the future. Motion by DR, second by CJ.
11. Michael Marshall teaching classes: Possible subjects are the Kahbala and Prosperity. Michael Chodash, guitarist, will be joining Doug for a 3-month trial.
