Easing In:
PS called the meeting to order at 7:28p.m.
Opening Prayer by DR.
Review of minutes of last Board meeting by KJ: The minutes were submitted as read. Motion to accept the minutes by PD, second by DC. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report presented by DC. Motion to approve report by KJ, second by DR. Motion passed.
Old Business:
Spiritual Gifts Survey – DR has received 10 completed surveys.
Pot Luck on 9/12/04 with the Alchemy Class Graduation. We will discuss the expectations people have of churches.
Community Projects: The Gordons are particularly interested in outreach to elders. The Gordon’s school supply drive was successful. We collected 20 boxes of supplies. Mary LeFleur has suggested that we assemble jail release relief packages
Star Studded Creations (Pam and Paul Denny) will donate $5 for each Living Water Unity shirt sold. 4 or 5 have been sold thus far.
Music Benefit: The original October date is too close to promote the event properly. We may reschedule in February with a focus on raising money for our facility.
Pot lucks will be held less frequently. They will be held on the 2nd Sunday of odd numbered months.
PD is working on a newsletter article about initiation. The deadline is Monday 8/23/04.
Financial Outlook: Two congregants have each committed $2000 per month for a total of $4000. There has been an additional offer of $15000 to $20000 for a down payment on a facility.
We will begin to pay DR his agreed upon salary ($4000 per month) with hopes of beginning to pay off our financial debt to him in the near future.
A possible full time property is available for short term lease (16 months). It is currently a chiropractor’s office at 92nd and Sheridan. Motion to go forward with negotiations to sublet the property by DC, second by PD. Motion passed.
Tithes to community and Unity groups for August: Broomfield Community Foundation. $266.16, Silent Unity $177.44. Motion by DC, second by CJ. Motion passed
Motion to adjourn at 9:20p.m. by PD, second by KJ. The next meeting will be September 16th, at the home of David Cowles.
