Minutes of the Meetings -- June 23, 2004

PD called meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

Opening Prayer by PD.

Check in.

Break for meal.

Review of minutes of last Board meeting by KJ: The minutes were submitted as read.  Motion to accept the minutes by DC, second by DR.  Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report presented by DC.  Motion to approve report by KJ, second by DR.  Motion passed.

Old Business:

Location: Our lease is due for renewal on July 1. If we extend our lease for a year, rent will be $900 per month. Month to month rental would be $1000 per month. Motion to extend the lease by DR, second by DC. Motion passed.

Congregation Survey:

• Team orientation: Ask people to join teams rather than presenting work to be done as individual jobs.
• Organize teams to plan extracurricular activities such as prayer groups, home study groups and community service projects.

Fundraisers: Music benefit – Create a letter to invite musicians. 

New Business:

Talent survey results: Four surveys have been returned. Surveys will continue to be available.

Potluck June 27th:

• At least one board member will sit at each table with “Table Topics” to be discussed so we can gather ideas and feedback from the congregation. Satisfying, relevant community service and the formation of home study and prayer groups will be among the topics
• Since it is more difficult for people on fixed incomes to budget for the fourth Sunday of the month, we will skip the August potluck then switch the potluck date from the fourth Sunday to the second Sunday of the month beginning in September. This will coincide with the Alchemy class graduation.

Tithes to community and Unity groups for June: The two tithe recipients are Unity Village ($186.92) and Alternatives to Family Violence ($280.38). Motion by KJ, second by DR.  Motion passed

Motion to adjourn at 10:12 PM by CJ, second by DR.  The next meeting will be July 15^th at the home of Pam Denny.
