Checking in.
The meeting was called to order by KJ at 5:51p.m.
Opening prayer by DR.
A motion to approve the agenda as amended was made by KJ, seconded by PD, all approved. A motion to waive reading the minutes aloud was made by JG, seconded by PD, and approved by all.
Review of minutes of the last Board Meeting by JG. Motion to approve as amended by KJ, second by DJ. Motion passed. JG made the revisions and additions.
Operating Statement & AUC Financial Report presented by DR. Motion to approve by CJ, second by JG. Motion passed.
KJ and JG attended a Raising More Money type of event put on by Lost and Found. The event was a formal “Ask Event”. Jeff observed that this type of event would not be a good fit for LWU at this time. KJ thought it would take further study of their full process to come to a decision and acknowledged that we need money short term. DR noted that 15 people signed up the Making a Difference Team. This group will be meeting in the near term to consider what kinds of projects in which they will be involved.
Awareness Committee, DR has not heard a thing from them. The draft brochure is still with John Brisnehan.
DR suggested that we put together a list of possible committee tasks that need to be done. DR suggested an emailed list that we add to. Then we should identify functions of the working committees. He then suggested that we put together two or three working committees. JG said perhaps we need a follow-up committee or make this a board function with regular review.
Teddy Bear Sunday is scheduled for April 30th and is moving forward.
Web site and Internet presence. The activity has dropped off a bit. March 27th, we were nominated Web site of the week for the Association of Unity Churches. We didn’t win but it gave us additional publicity. This contest has provided about 50 additional hits per week. In the last two months our cost was $90 for advertising. Last week someone in San Diego contributed $50. We also received some local contributions. You can make credit card contributions from the web site.
