Minutes of the Meetings -- January 22, 2004

  1. Facilities update – DR:

New Business:

2    Assignment of budget committee members and goals – DR: 15 to 16 hours will be needed to draw up the budget. DR will request volunteers for the committee at the service on Sunday (1-25). The budget should be completed by March 1.

3   Request for newsletter material – DR: The theme will be “What Can One Person Do?” PD and KJ will write articles.

4   David’s Mountain Light Unity application and considerations – DR:

a)   Timing of service – both Mountain Light and Living Water: Mountain Light would have to begin their service 30 minutes earlier (9:00AM) and Living Water would have to begin 30 minutes later (11:00AM). Someone else would have to lead songs with David arriving at approximately 11:15.

b)   Set-up and tear-down teams for Living Water: We would need more people, particularly for tear down.

c)   Other applicants in process: Two other applicants will be doing trial talks at Mountain Light in February.

d)   Announcement to congregation of David’s application: Announcement will be made Sunday, 1-25.

5    Fund-raising projects – PD: Jefferson County and Boulder County may require Health Department certification for food service.

6    Assignment of 501(c)3 application team: The application is 12 or 14 pages. Cost for submission is $500.

7    Out-reach projects:

a)      Involvement in Rainbow Bridge with Youth Ed.

b)      Collect food past expiration date for distribution to groups that need food.

c)      Tutoring program.

d)      Involvement in the non-violent community

e)      Look within a five mile radius of LWU    

8    Tithes to community and Unity groups for January: Income was $5600. The tithe recipients for January are Broomfield Community Foundation ($336) and Association of Unity Churches ($224).
